Sign in to SnapVerbo
You can use SnapVerbo as a guest forever — everything stays on the device. Signing in unlocks cloud backup and cross-device sync: same vocab on your phone, tablet, and any future device.
Open the sign-in screen
- Open Settings.
- Tap Account & Sign-in (the first card, with a person icon). When signed-out it reads “Back up your vocab & sync across devices.”
The screen titled Account & Sign-in opens.
Pick a provider
A card in the centre says “Sign in to keep your learning backed up in the cloud.” Below it:
- Sign in with Google — available on Android and iOS.
- Sign in with Apple — available only on iOS.
Tap one. Your phone’s standard sign-in sheet opens. Pick the account, confirm, and SnapVerbo creates your account on first sign-in.
Below the buttons, in small text:
When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email to create your SnapVerbo account. We do not get access to your Gmail, Google Drive, or personal iCloud files.
What happens right after sign-in
If you had guest vocabulary on this device, you’ll get an “Import your existing words?” dialog — see Migrating guest data into an account.
If you didn’t, you go straight back to the home screen, and Cloud Sync starts running quietly in the background (assuming you’re on a tier that includes it).
What the screen shows when you’re signed in
Open the same screen again and you’ll see:
- Signed in with: Google / Apple, plus your email and name.
- Manage Google access (Google sign-ins only) — opens Google’s permission page in your browser.
- Sign out at the bottom (red border).
Tapping Sign out opens a confirmation: “Sign out? You will be signed out on this device.” — Cancel or Sign out.
Cancelled sign-ins
If you back out of the system sheet, you’ll see a snackbar: “Sign-in canceled.” Nothing changes. On a network failure: “Network error. Check your connection and try again.”
What sign-in does not do
- It does not automatically share your vocab with anyone else — accounts are private.
- It does not turn off ads or unlock paid features. Tier (Fluent+, Poly) is separate from sign-in. See Managing your account.
- It does not delete your guest data unless you explicitly chose Import into account in the migration dialog.
