SnapVerbo helps learners read and translate real-world text while protecting their privacy.

Overview

We collect limited usage and performance data to improve the app. We do not sell personal information and do not use analytics for advertising, tracking, or profiling.

What we collect

Usage analytics (optional)

When enabled, anonymous events such as app opens, feature usage, device model, OS version, and performance metrics may be collected. No camera images, recognized text, or audio are uploaded as part of analytics.

Advertising

SnapVerbo displays non-personalized ads using third-party advertising services to help support free-tier usage.

These services may collect and use information from your device to provide and improve advertising experiences. This information may include device identifiers such as the Android Advertising ID, as well as interaction data related to ads (for example, views and taps).

These partners may use this data for purposes including:

  • Delivering and measuring advertisements
  • Analytics and performance monitoring
  • Fraud prevention and security

SnapVerbo itself does not use advertising data to build user profiles or perform interest-based targeting. Advertising partners may use device identifiers and related data as described in their respective privacy policies.

You can control certain advertising preferences, such as resetting or limiting the use of the advertising ID, in your device’s system settings.

Crash reports

Anonymous crash logs are used to diagnose stability issues. They do not include personal content or saved vocabulary.

Account data (optional)

If you create an account, we store your email address and authentication tokens to provide sign-in and optional sync across devices.

Cloud features (optional)

If enabled, selected text may be sent to translation or AI providers only to perform the requested operation. This data is not used for advertising or model training.

Image uploads (optional)

If you enable sync features, you may choose to upload images (such as photos of text) to SnapVerbo’s servers for backup and synchronization across devices.

This information:

  • Is uploaded only when you explicitly choose to use sync features
  • Is not uploaded in guest mode
  • Is not used for analytics, advertising, personalization, or model training
  • Is not accessed unless you initiate the upload

You can use SnapVerbo without uploading images by remaining in guest mode or disabling cloud features.

Contextual tags derived from network information

When saving a vocabulary entry, upon your explicit request, SnapVerbo may derive a rough, non-precise location label (such as a city or region) from network information in order to tag the entry with contextual metadata.

This information:

  • Is not derived from your device’s coarse or precise location
  • Is used only to provide context for the saved vocabulary entry
  • Is not used to determine or track your location
  • Is not stored as part of a user location history or profile
  • Is not used for advertising, personalization, or analytics

SnapVerbo does not request location permissions or access device location APIs.

Data retention

  • Analytics and crash data are retained for up to 14 months in anonymized form.
  • Synced content remains available until you delete it or delete your account.

Your choices

  • Disable analytics in Settings → Privacy
  • Turn off cloud features in Settings → Advanced
  • Delete your account via Settings → Privacy

Security

We use standard encryption and access controls to protect your data.

Children

SnapVerbo is not intended for children under 13.
